Sandcastles

On Saturday, we cycled to Ocean Beach for no particular reason. When we arrived, we noticed some commotion, a few marquees, and a lot of people down one end of the beach. We wandered towards the action, and stumbled across a huge sandcastle competition.

We poked around, checking out the different teams’ creations. It was awesome to watch how each team had decided to ferry water to their sandcastle from the ocean, and watching adults and kids work so closely together. There were dogs, there was food, there was music, and a lot of laughter.

Local schools were represented, each one with a puntastic team name (e.g. Sand Francisco, Sand Gogh, and Artisands).

Anyway, it was adorable. Stupid depressive week aside, it really doesn’t feel like summer is over just yet.
